SLIDING CALIPER TYPE. - The sliding caliper type disc brake is mounted in a slot in the caliper adapter. It is a variation of the floating caliper, using a single piston and operating on the same principle, whereby the piston applies pressure to one brake pad and the movable caliper applies pressure to the other.

This design has two major sections - the sliding caliper and the caliper adapter (anchor plate). Each has two angular machined surfaces: this is where the sliding contacts come into play. The machined surfaces of the caliper housing slide on the mated surfaces of the caliper adapter when the brakes are applied.

ഇത്തരം രീതിയിൽ രണ്ട് പിസ്റ്റണുകളാണ് ഉള്ളത്. ഫ്രിക്ഷൻ പാഡുകളിൽ ഒരെണ്ണം പിസ്റ്റണുമായും, അടുത്തത് കാലിപ്പറുമായും ബന്ധപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഡ്രൈവർ ബ്രേക്ക്  പെഡൽ അമർത്തുമ്പോൾ പമ്പ് ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്ന ഫ്ളൂയിഡ് ചിത്രത്തിൽ കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ രണ്ട് പിസ്റ്റ്ണുകളുടെ മദ്ധ്യത്തിലേക്ക് പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നു. ഇതുകാരണം രണ്ട് പിസ്റ്റണുകളും വശങ്ങളിലേക്ക് ചലിക്കുന്നു. ഇക്കാരണത്താൽ പിസ്റ്റണുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഫ്രിക്ഷൻ പാഡ് കറങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഡിസ്കിലേക്ക് അമരുന്നു. ഇതേസമയം രണ്ടാമത്തെ പിസ്റ്റൺ കാലിപ്പറിൽ ചെലുത്തുന്ന ബലം കാരണം കാലിപ്പർ വശങ്ങളിലേക്  ചലിക്കുകയും കാലിപ്പറുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഫ്രിക്ഷൻ പാഡ് ഡിസ്കിന്റെ മറുവശത്തേക്ക് അമരുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ ബ്രേക്ക് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.

  AIM : Head light circuit TOOLS & MATERIALS REQUIRED : 1. Wire striper 2. Combination plier 3. Screw driver (+,-) 4. Wire(required) 5. Head light switch 6. Dipper switch 7. Relay - 6 leg 8. Insulation tape 9. Battery 12v 10. Head lamp 12v Diagram PROCEDURE 1. ബാറ്ററിയുടെ +ve ടെർമിനലിൽ നിന്നും fuse വഴി relay യിലേക്കും head light സ്വിച്ചിലേക്കും red wire ഉപയോഗിച്ച് connect ചെയ്യുക. 2. Head light സ്വിച്ചിൽ നിന്നും dipper സ്വിച്ചിന്റെ center point ലേക്ക് red wire ഉപയോഗിച്ച് connect ചെയ്യുക. 3. Relay യുടെ dim, bright connection യഥാക്രമം dipper switch ന്റെ Low, High ബിം പോയിന്റിലേക് connect ചെയ്യുക. 4. അതിനുശേഷം Head light ൽ നിന്നുള്ള loop ചെയ്ത High beam Low beam വയറുകൾ relay യുടെ high, low beam വയറിലേക് ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുക. 5. Relay യിൽ നിന്നുള്ള -ve ഉം, head light ൽ നിന്നുള്ള -ve ഉം യോചിപ്പിച്ചു battery യുടെ -ve ടെർമിനലിലേക് connect ചെയ്യുക. RESULT HEAD LIGHT CIRCUIT വിജയകരമായി പൂർത്തീകരിച്ചു.
