SEMI CENTRIFUGAL CLUTCH
SEMI CENTRIFUGAL CLUTCH MAIN PARTS 1. FLY WHEEL 2. CLUTCH PLATE 3. PRESSURE PLATE 4. CENTRIFUGAL WEIGHT 5. LEVER 6. CLUTCH SPRING 7. CLUTCH SHAFT CONSTRUCTION This types of clutch is commonly used in heavy duty vehicles. Centrifugal force is used to keep the clutch in the engaged position at the engine r.p.m is high to avoid the clutch slippage. It operated automatically depending upon the engine speed. The lever with centrifugal weight and clutch spring is placed back side of the pressure plate. Also the clutch plate is placed in between fly wheel and pressure plate. WORKING When the engine is working, the clutch spring helps the clutch in engage position. If the engine speed increases the centrifugal weights fly off due to the centrifugal force. The lever on the weight presses the pressure plate and clutch plate on the flywheel. Which assists in preventing slippage of the driven plate.
